(Essay Practice)
Some people may look down on losers, then it will lead to discrimination through sports. However, I believe that sports help develop good character for the following reasons.
First, people can foster one’s independence through sports. They plan the training menu to improve their skill to win the game or competition. Also continuing the training is raising their persistence even if they are outnumbered in the game. I believe independence is beneficial in their daily life.
Second, people can improve communication skills and learn to respect others through sports, especially team sports. To realize their strategy and tactics to win the game, players should talk about the tactics with others. Also, if teammates cannot fully understand how they should move in the game, members explain the situation and advise to correct properly.
Moreover, some players can learn politeness. For example, Kendo is one of the sports which respects good manners. At the Kendo games, players use bamboo swords to hit enemies. It may sound violent, but actually it is not to induce fighting because people learn to respect and are grateful to others through Kendo.
In conclusion, I think sports raise people’s good characteristics like independence, communication, and respect to others. Sports will have a good impact, not only physically but also mentally.
