Recently, there are many kinds of fast food in Japan. Some people often buy them, and thethem often, while others don’t. I believe thosethe demerits outweigh the merits byfor the following reasons.
Firstly, fast food helps people shorten the time for preparingto prepare the food and having them.eat it. It looks good at a glance because people use the time for other things like work, household.or household chores. However, cooking and/or eating time are important for people to relax, refleshrefresh and have conversationconversations with coworkers and/or family members. ToBy slashing those times the amount of relaxation time are likely to be equal to cut their relax time,is equally reduced, and it often stresses people out more.
Secondly, some fast food utilizes the unhealthy ingredientingredients to curb their costs. For example, shortening is used to cook fried potato. It makes fries crispy. However, this oil contains trans-unsaturated fat acid, fatty acids, which are not good for your health. People have to pay attention what ingredient to bewhat ingredients are used, but it is impossible they vigilanceto be vigilant about all materials. Cooking byfood themselves areis far healthier than buying fast food.
Moreover, buying fast food everyall the time is toa waste of money. The cost of fast food includes the fee of not only ingredients but also labor costs and utility costs. To buyBuying food in supermarkets and cook by themselves arecooking it at home is cheaper than gettingbuying fast food.
In conclusion, fast food is a curse for people in modern society. It deprives people of the relaxedrelaxation time, a healthy body, and money without informing us clearly.

Excellent argument, Mameta! It really got me thinking about my own daily diet. Fast food has no benefits to the body, mind, and spirit. What are some examples of fast food in Japan besides corporate conglomerates like McDonalds? (Also you may know, we have McDonalds all over the place in America too.)
Also, what is your definition of “fast food?” What is your opinions on sit-down restaurants?
As for me, I truly enjoy sit-down restaurants for one reason. Experiences! I’ve visited Japan last year, and had the most tastiest food I ever had. I’m not sure if it was healthy or not, but I was wonderful to have that experience just to compare to the food quality in America.
Thank you for the insightful articles.
Hope to hear more from you.

Hello sape101! Thank you for the comment. “My” definition of fast food is the food which is served in a short time, not expensive, and high-calorie.
In Japan, “Gyuudon (beef-over-rice-bowl)”, “Ramen (noodle)” seem to be categorized. My friends said “Kaiten-zushi (how should I say…. Sushi on the tray goes round on conveyor-belt in front of customers)” is also a kind of fast food.
So, you came to Japan last year, it’s great!! Where have you visited? I hope you enjoyed your travel. I think there are many good restaurants which are not only Japanese food, but also other countries’ in Japan.
Once I heard the reason why food in Japan was tasty was Japanese have so many taste buds on their tongue that they can express a slight difference of taste…….I’m not sure.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thank you
